The D.A. Accountability Table is a collective of organizations that grew from a working group of the Justice Reinvestment Coalition (JRC) in 2018. The DA Accountability table creates a space for Alameda County based organizations to build collective strategy and hold the Alameda District Attorney’s office accountable.
In Alameda County and across the state the DA is the main driver of criminalization and mass incarceration in Alameda County, with that regard, the DA Accountability Table develops priority issues to end the incarceration pipeline through collective dialogue using consensus decision making. In addition, the DA accountability table challenges the DA’s office to bring loved ones home by implementing state reforms and using their institutional power.
The purpose of the DA Accountability Table is to address root causes of violence and push for decriminalization, decarceration, transparency and accountability. The DA Accountability Table commits to prioritizing and uplifting and cultivating the leadership of Black, brown, and indigenous people impacted by the criminal legal system.
